Put in my 2 cents!

That's all she wrote! 2 cents for the day-(1 Canadian). These 2 coins were spotted at the Coinstar machine on the floor.
When someone says, "here's my 2 cents, or let me put in my 2 cents", it's normally advice given when not requested. It originates from the "put my two bits in," an older poker term where one makes a small bet (ante) to enter the play. Two bits means one quarter.

The last two days brought in a total of 2 pennies. Our daily average over the last 95 days has been $.21.

Total find for the day: $.02

Grand total: $20.04

95 finding days averages out to $.21

After all of my US Post Office visits-I finally found something!

Before we started hunting for coins-I would see a couple of pennies here and there at the post office. When the hunt was on, money finding was scarce until today! I normally pick up our business mail a few times a week and do my normal ground scanning like a metal detector would. Of course my eyes are searching high places too. My first stop is the parking lot with a quick look. Next I come upon the newspapers. To my surprise-the US Today had 4 Washington Quarters just waiting for me. Right place at the right time-indeed!

Keep your eyes on the prize!

Happy Hunting!

Early morning find - $1.00 (4 quarters)

Enjoy the photos from our early summer trip to D.C. This is George Washington's home in Mt. Vernon. General George Washington/President Washington deservedly belongs on coins and bills.

Another car wash stop results in a Canadian Quarter find+Late night Yo quiero Taco Bell find

Nothing against a Canadian Quarter. It appears this one just didn't work at the car wash. I also came up with a couple of Lincolns.

After my son's football practice we stopped by Taco Bell and grabbed some goods. Under the condiment bar we saw a round object that got our attention. It was Mr. Roosevelt heads up.

Earlier find- $.05
+ this find- $.27
+ late night find- $.10

Daily Find: $.42
Total to date: $14.16
81 Finding Days averages out to $.17 per day

Woodinville Costco find

While we were shopping, our eyes were peeled for some metallic objects. The shopping trip was almost complete-and here we thought we came up empty. Claire spots the find-a quarter sitting under the Costco ice cream cart. Steve jumps quickly to the rescue and gets in a push-up position to scoop up the find. A penny was also spotted nearby. Don't you hate when you have the video button on when snapping a photo??

How much have we found?

The craziness started on July 12, 2009 at Baker Lake Resort. Some friends helped haul my mom's trailer up to the camprgound. This couple hunts for change whenever they are out and about. Sure enough-they spot a quarter in our campground. The craze began-and the hunt was on. I ended up finding $.38 that day. Since then, the family keeps a look out. We have recovered $4.89 to date-which averages out to $.07 a day. It's the thrill of the find. It's the story of the place and time of when we find that shiny or dull coin that's special.
